Nayu's Craft Time #262 Postal Competition (That isn't an NCD competition)

Still dreaming of an American style post box!
Sorry if the title is misleading - this isn't a competition to do with the postal service! It's basically because yesterday I saw 1 postman with shorts on. I asked if he was cold and he said no, and that he can't lose against our other postman. I saw the other one today and yes, he was wearing shorts too! I guess if they are moving around a lot they will stay warm, and since they keep wrapped up with scarf and gloves they may not feel the cold so much, though I still feel a bit sorry for them, even though it's self-inflicted.

I'm staying nice and toasty inside! The colder weather has begun in earnest, so lots of rest is happening while my body goes on strike. I managed to bake a super yummy vegetable dish yesterday: peas + sweetcorn + baked potato + broccoli + beansprouts + bechemal (white) sauce = winter warmer meal! I haven't got a picture yet - will add one in the next post, but it's delicious (included stock cube & grated mild chedder cheese), and I'm having it for lunch today! (I eat my main meal at lunch)
Too perfect to be my picture! Plus I didn't add herbs.
Will post my recipe when I do get a picture, but you can put whatever veg you like in (& I guess add meat if you want). I simply Googled a white sauce recipe as I haven't made one for yonks, cut up the potato and broccoli super small, (not quite as small as the peas and sweetcorn), cooked everything in the microwave for speed (separately but only takes a few minutes unlike the many more minutes if I'd cooked it on the hob. My kind of cooking is super fast!), made the sauce then mixed it together! Simple!

I've been busy working on jigsaw puzzles, something I'll discuss in the next post. Until then...

Nayu's Craft Time #235 Fleeting snow flurry

Sadly I lack Elsa's power to create snow. (Frozen)
Last week we had what could have been a snow flurry, but turned into definite rain by the end of the day. I guess the possibility for snow this season is reducing fast. Never mind! I dreamt that it snowed the other night is good enough for me.

It's been a fairly quiet week, mostly gaming as my body didn't like the weather, but I did some craft too and I baked cupcakes! 1 lot of gluten free and another batch were vegan. Both turned out ok, I'm frosting them this afternoon so will take photos then and share in my next post. It's lunch time so I need to make this a short post (sorry) but wanted to wish you a...

Nayu's Craft Time #195 Cattitude = placid

This is an adorable ragdoll cat, a type I'd love to have some day.
It's late in the afternoon/early evening, my mind is moosh and I couldn't think of an appropriate title. Find out later in the post why my cat's cattitude has been placid today. Temperatures are on the cold side, more if you believe in real feel which isn't the stated temperature exactly. It takes into account wind strength/speed, whether it's sunny/cloudy, and other factors and comes up with what the temperature feels to us. For example this morning in the south of England the temperature was 5C and the real feel was -2C.
If I dig far enough I may make it to an Australian beach... Picture source

That's a seven degree difference. Brr! For more info about real feel which is a Trademarked term, check out Accuweather who own the term. This isn't a sponsered post, I genuinely like their weather reports and have an app on my android.

Either way cold is cold so I've had an easy day as my body is in hibernation mode. I can tell you what happens at the end of Gilmore Girls specials which were released this week on Netflix, but I won't spoil it. It's a beautiful ending, filled with hope, and everything works out well.

I can tell you that Pretty Little Liars season 4 is as convoluted and gripping as the previous seasons. I wasn't up for doing crochet, so I gamed, which involves much less effort.
from the left are the main protagonists Spencer, Emily, Aria and Hanna.
Reason for today's cattitude title. After spending most of her time in her own bed (on the spare bed), my cat spent nearly all day with me (up until before writing this post) with me. I was stuck in the same position for 2 hours this morning because she was super cute, and I don't see her that often lately so didn't want to shift myself in case she decided to sit elsewhere.
This is her on a previous day, but with that face I can't resist her charms!
She then took position at the end of my bed for a while, and after lunch came back on me, thankfully not for 2 hours. I've loved seeing her more! Maybe she will restart sleeping with me at night again, and leave her beloved bed. I'd love to know where your pets prefer sleeping!
Such a cute fluffy kitty!

Nayu's Craft Time #142 Blissfully hot!

This looks just like where I live, even though it's not.
If you're in England, you may have noticed the weather is GORGEOUS!!!! I know a lot of people struggle in the heat, especially if you aren't in a naturally cool building/have fans/air conditioning, if you are sick, and for other reasons, but I love heat.
Keep rising!!!

I'm usually under blankets (some heated), hot water bottles, and more layers of clothing than most in both winter and summer. The temperature getting above 25C helps me feel warm for once without all of those things. Thus it makes me happy! Long may it continue.

Still a bit tired from my crafting day with a friend yesterday, but thought you'd like to see the blanket I've been working on. It's a simple 2 colour treble granny square crochet blanket which involves next to no thinking from me, a bonus these days. I may do a bit more tonight, although a mermaid bed has come up on a family's Animal Crossing New Leaf island, and since I'm a fangirl of said mermaid collection I want more than one, and I'm not sure how many medals I currently have. The plus side is that I usually get what my family has on their island a few days later, so can save up medals another day.
Not my photo (I want a pink wetsuit!) but it is the mermaid bed that's adorable!!!

I'm not sure what I was doing tonight, as I watched anime this morning, have read a lot, and vaguely too tired for craft (gaming involves less hand movement than crochet, and I can do it almost on auto-pilot when uber tired), so maybe gaming is what I'm meant to be doing. Will be listening to audiobooks that's for sure! Almost finished this one,
Murder & secrets abound at this 1930s girls' boarding school (4th book in the series)
and definitely will be continuing with the 2nd in a brilliant Amish series
The Amish still eat a lot of pie in this relisten!
I'd love to hear what you're up to today, whether you have an audiobook on the go, are reading a good book, doing something crafty or gaming!
